Your routine dentist check-ups are what will keep your teeth healthy year on year.

At Marton Dental Practice, we see many patients for general dentistry through word of mouth, and we’re proud to be a trusted centre for all routine dental care for our community here in Teesside.

We believe in delivering more than just dental care, but rather an experience for our patients. We’re here for you when you need us, whether it’s for a simple check-up or restorative and preventive treatment.

What can I expect?

Consultation

This is where it all begins. Your consultation is an informal chat to help you gauge if we’re the right fit for you, and for you to ask all the questions you need to about your chosen treatment, or about anything that’s worrying you about your oral health.

Your tailored plan

Your dentist and the wider clinical team here at Marton Dental Practice will develop a fully costed treatment plan that we’re confident will meet your needs and expectations. We won’t go ahead with anything until you have approved this. Your plan will outline the estimated timeline and everything you can expect from your treatment journey.

General Dentistry overview

Why choose us for general dentistry?

Whatever you need from us as your general dentist, we’ll go above and beyond to meet your needs. As a private dentist in Teesside, we know our patients expect the greatest care. We will never cut corners or leave any stone unturned, nor will you ever be rushed in our care.

We believe in longstanding relationships with our patients, and we feel incredibly fortunate that patients continue to come and see us from many miles away.

General Dentistry treatments we offer at Marton Dental Practice.

Restorative dentistry

We use a series of restorative treatments and techniques to nurse poorly teeth back to health. Every restorative treatment is preceded by an informal consultation chat, where a proposed (fully costed) plan will be laid out for your approval.

Fillings

A filling can be the lifeline that prevents the need for more involved treatment down the line. We offer discreet tooth-coloured, mercury-free fillings to address mild damage and decay.

Root canal treatment

When the tissues inside a tooth become infected due to injury or decay, root canal treatment can be carried out to reverse this. Our dentists are highly experienced in this area, and we often take referrals from other practices for complex cases.

Dental crowns

Our dental crowns are a precise mix of functionality and craftsmanship. Using crowns, we can restore moderately and severely damaged teeth, as well as create dental bridges that replace gaps compromising the appearance and health of your smile.

Bridges

We can replace one or more missing teeth with a fixed solution: a dental bridge. This lower-cost solution for tooth replacement is both reliable and functional, eliminating barriers with chewing and speaking associated with missing teeth.

Dental implants

We can refer you to our trusted referral dentist for dental implants, a treatment that emulates the functionality of real teeth. The implant process is a surgical procedure carried out under local anaesthesia.

Dentures

A removable solution for missing teeth. Our dentures are created from biocompatible materials designed for long-term strength and durability.

Tooth extractions

If you have an infected tooth or decay that cannot be salvaged with restorative treatment, an extraction may be recommended to make sure the issue doesn’t spread to neighbouring teeth. We use gentle techniques and local anaesthetics to ensure your comfort. Our dentists are known for their compassionate chairside manner and ability to put nervous patients at ease, time and time again.

Wisdom teeth

We can provide wisdom tooth removal to alleviate pain and complications that can arise as a result of impacted wisdom teeth.

Preventive dentistry

Prevention runs through the core of how we do dentistry here at Marton Dental Practice. We offer a range of preventive treatments and educational advice to help you cultivate healthy at-home habits that will keep your teeth healthy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you taking on new patients in Middlesbrough?

Yes, we're currently welcoming new private and Denplan patients at our practice on Marton Estate Square. Our NHS list is far more limited and we can only take on a small number of adults, so please give us a ring on 01642 315 745 to check what's available before you book. Around 90 to 100 people join us as new private patients every month, so we're used to making the move an easy one.

How much is a new patient appointment?

A comprehensive examination is £55 and takes 45 minutes, which is longer than most practices give you. That fee includes any x-rays we need to take, so there's nothing added on afterwards. If you join Denplan Essentials, your examinations are included in your monthly payment. You can see everything on our fees page.

What actually happens at my first appointment?

We'll ask about your medical history and what's been bothering you, then check your teeth, gums, bite and the soft tissues in your mouth. We'll take x-rays where we need to see below the surface, and we'll usually take photographs so you can see what we're seeing on the screen in front of you. You'll leave with a written plan and costs, not a vague idea of what might happen next.

I haven't been to a dentist in years. Will I get a lecture?

No. Plenty of the people who register with us have been putting it off for years, sometimes decades, and we've heard every version of the story. We're far more interested in getting you comfortable and building a plan you can actually work through than in what happened before you got here. If it helps, Jody, our treatment co-ordinator, is happy to show you round the practice first so nothing feels unfamiliar on the day.

Do you offer payment plans?

We do. We work with Tabeo, which offers 0% interest over 12 months, and longer plans up to 60 months where interest applies. There's usually no deposit needed to get started, and the minimum spend is £400. You can run the numbers yourself on our finance calculator before you commit to anything.

Where are you and is there parking?

We're at 2B Marton Estate Square on Stokesley Road in Marton, on the parade of shops with the pharmacy and Greggs. There's free parking for up to two hours right outside, including two disabled bays, and a lift up to the practice. We're a ten minute walk from the station with good bus links, and we're on the main commuter road into Middlesbrough, so plenty of our patients call in on the way to or from work.
