Most people need a few weeks. Start with softer foods, cut things smaller, and come back to us for the adjustments rather than putting up with rubbing.
They shouldn't. Modern dentures are a long way from what most people picture, and we take time over the shade, shape and position of the teeth so they suit your face rather than looking uniform. Bring in a photograph of your own teeth from before if you have one - it genuinely helps.
Yes. Implants can be used to hold a denture firmly in place, which stops the movement and lets you eat properly again. That ranges from a couple of implants stabilising an existing denture to a fixed all-on-4 bridge that doesn't come out at all. It's worth a conversation if your lower denture in particular is giving you trouble.
Around five to eight years, though your mouth changes shape underneath them over time, so they'll usually need relining before they need replacing. Loose dentures aren't something to live with - they cause sore spots and accelerate bone loss.
Brush them daily over a bowl of water with a denture brush and soap, not toothpaste, which is too abrasive. Soak them in a denture cleaner, and take them out overnight to let your gums recover. Keep brushing any natural teeth and your gums as normal.
