Why we would rather be recommended than advertised

Most people do not choose a dentist from a poster. They choose the one their sister goes to, or the one the woman behind the counter at work swears by. That is how a great many of our patients found us here in Marton, and it is the part of our work we are proudest of, because you only pass someone’s name on if you genuinely trust them.

We do not take that for granted. So if you send someone our way, we would like to thank you for it, and we would like to give them a warm welcome at the same time. That is the whole idea behind our refer a friend scheme.

How it works

Three steps, and only one of them involves you doing anything.

  1. Spread the word. Ask your friend to mention your name when booking.
  2. The visit. Your rewards are triggered after their first full dental exam.
  3. The bonus. No limits! Refer as many friends as you like.

There is no limit. Refer three friends and we will thank you three times. If you are not sure whether we are taking on new patients at the moment, just give reception a ring and they will tell you straight away.

What you get, and what your friend gets

For you

  • A £20 One4all voucher to spend wherever you like, posted to the address we hold for you. Do let reception know if you have moved.
  • One voucher for every friend who books in and attends their first examination, with no limit on how many people you refer.
  • No forms, no codes, no app. Your friend just says your name.

For your friend

  • A £20 credit on their account, put straight towards the cost of their dental care.
  • A proper first appointment: a full examination, x-rays included, and time to actually talk about what they want.
  • The option to join our Denplan payment plans if they would rather spread the cost of looking after their teeth.

Who can take part?

We have kept this as simple as we can, but there are a few things worth knowing before you start telling people.

  • You need to be one of our current patients, which we take to mean you have been in to see us within the last 18 months.
  • Your friend needs to be new to the practice, and they need to give your full name when they book, not after their visit.
  • Both of you need to be 18 or over at the time of the examination.
  • The reward is triggered by a full dental examination with one of our dentists. A free consultation about Invisalign, bonding or a smile makeover does not count on its own, but if your friend books an examination afterwards, the referral still stands.
  • Your friend keeps their £20 as long as they attend. If they miss the appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, the credit is lost and cannot be reissued for a rebooked visit.

The full detail is set out below, and reception will happily talk you through any of it.

Terms and conditions

By taking part in the Marton Dental Practice refer a friend scheme, both the referring patient and the new patient agree to the following.

1. Who qualifies as a referral

  • The new patient must give the full name of the person who referred them when they book their first appointment. Referrals cannot be added retrospectively once the appointment has been booked or attended.
  • The rewards are triggered when the new patient attends a full dental examination with one of our dentists. A free consultation with our treatment co-ordinator does not qualify on its own, but if the patient goes on to book and attend a full new patient examination afterwards, the referral still counts.

2. The reward for the referring patient

  • To qualify, the referring patient must be an active patient at Marton Dental Practice, meaning they have attended an appointment with us within the last 18 months.
  • Once the new patient has attended their first dental examination, the referring patient receives one £20 One4all voucher.
  • Vouchers are posted to the address held on the patient’s clinical record, so please keep your contact details up to date with us.
  • One4all vouchers are subject to One4all’s own terms of use, including their expiry terms.
  • There is no limit to the number of friends or family members a patient can refer. Every successful referral that meets the criteria earns a reward for both people.

3. The reward for the new patient

  • New patients receive a £20 credit applied to their patient account at Marton Dental Practice.
  • The credit can only be used towards the cost of dental treatment at the practice.
  • The credit depends on the patient attending their booked dental examination.
  • If the new patient does not attend, or cancels with less than 48 hours’ notice, the £20 credit is forfeited and our usual missed appointment charge applies. The credit will not be reissued for a rebooked appointment.

4. Denplan and payment restrictions

  • The £20 account credit cannot be used to pay monthly Denplan direct debit payments.
  • If the new patient joins Denplan, the £20 credit stays on their account to be used towards future treatment or products such as toothbrushes, floss and interdental brushes.

5. General

  • Both the voucher and the account credit are non-transferable. Neither can be exchanged for cash or refunded to a card.
  • Marton Dental Practice reserves the right to withdraw or amend the scheme at any time, without prior notice.
  • Both the referring patient and the new patient must be aged 18 or over at the time of the dental examination.
  • The scheme does not apply to the referral of children or dependants.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How often should I get a check-up?

At Marton Dental Practice, regular dental check-ups are essential for maintaining good oral health. While the exact frequency may vary depending on individual needs, routine dentist and hygienist visits are part of your preventive armour against dental infections and gum disease. For most people, check-ups are recommended every 6 months, though patients at higher risk may be advised to come in more frequently.

Why are my teeth sensitive?

Tooth sensitivity can be caused by several factors, including:

  • Dental infections or decay reach the inner layers of the tooth.
  • Gum recession exposes the tooth’s dentine (a weaker layer than enamel).
  • Cracked or chipped teeth.
  • Worn fillings or enamel erosion.

If you’re experiencing sensitivity, it could also be a sign of underlying gum disease or the early stages of a dental infection that may require attention, such as a root canal treatment if left untreated.

How do I whiten my teeth?

Marton Dental Practice offers professional at-home teeth whitening using White Dental Beauty products. This treatment involves:

  • Custom-made whitening trays based on 3D digital scans.
  • Dentist-supervised application of a safe, vegan-friendly whitening gel.
  • Wear time is as short as 30 minutes per day.

The process is non-invasive, gentle on sensitive teeth, and the results can last for years with good maintenance.

Why are my gums bleeding?

Bleeding gums are often a sign of gum disease, caused by the build-up of plaque and tartar. If left untreated, this can progress to serious gum damage, tooth loss, and even systemic health issues like cardiovascular disease.

Marton Dental’s hygienists offer:

  • Scale and polish treatments to remove plaque.
  • Deep cleaning below the gumline to close gum pockets.
  • Tailored advice for ongoing gum maintenance.

Early treatment can reverse gum disease and prevent more invasive procedures later.
